Certificate in Concrete Technology
With effect from 1 October 2010, for Ready-Mixed Concrete (RMC) Certification,
Building and Construction Authority (BCA) will require batching plants to be certified by
certification bodies accredited under Singapore Accreditation Council’s Accreditation
Scheme. This RMC certification will be based on the new Singapore Standards SS EN
206-1 (Concrete – Specification, performance, production and conformity) and SS 544
(Concrete – Complementary Singapore Standard to SS EN 206-1).
This certificate course in concrete technology is jointly organised by the BCA Academy,
the Singapore Concrete Institute (SCI) and the American Concrete Institute-Singapore
Chapter (ACI-SC) to familiarize technical personnel in the concrete industry with the
certification scheme.
ACI-SC regularly organises educational seminars to spread the knowledge on Concrete technology and also to provide a forum to discuss the local Concrete related issues.
One Belt One Road Southeast Asia Concxrete Technology Forum

ACI conducts two conventions a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Convention sites vary and are chosen to give as many members as possible an opportunity to attend. At each convention, technical, educational, and administrative committees conduct open meetings, and attendees are welcome. These meetings provide ample opportunity to meet and talk individually with some of the most prominent individuals and experts in the field of concrete technology. In addition to committee meetings, the convention program also includes technical and educational sessions, seminars, social events, and exhibits.
ACI seminars are held throughout the U.S. and in several other countries. ACI's members-experts on the program topic-serve as instructors, and local ACI chapters cosponsor and handle on-site registration. These seminars are designed to keep the industry informed on current technology, as well as provide more basic information to those new to the field.
